What is Spirulina?
Spirulina is a blue-green type of algae. This type of algae is full of necessary vitamins, macro and microelements and plant proteins. The proteins found in spirulina contain all amino acids that are necessary for good functioning of organisms. Spirulina contains omega-6 acids, and gamma linolenic acids. It also contains alpha linolenic, linoleic, eicosapentaenoic (EPA) and docosahexaenoic (DHA) acids. In living organisms unsaturated fatty acids build cell membranes and muscle cells. Also, they protect against autoimmune diseases. Spirulina is also a rich source of vitamins; it contains beta-carotene (also known as vitamin A) which is crucial for good functioning of epithelium in the body. Spirulina is also abundant in vitamin E (tocopherol) which has anti oxidative properties. Spirulina also has a number of healing properties. It supports immune system, is antibacterial, antiviral anti inflammatory.
