High Protein Astaxanthin
The fish food produced in a form of small granules with the high content of protein. This is food for feeding most types of aquarium fish and crustaceans.
The content of colouring substance (pigment called astaxanthin) has a beneficial influence on colour intensity of fish, shrimps, and mussels. Astaxanthin belongs to a group of carotenoids that are components of different see algae and see organisms (it’s a reason why salmons are pinkish – red!). It is the strongest antioxidant found in nature (65 times stronger than Vitamin C, 54 times stronger than beta carotene, 550 times stronger than vitamin E and 800 times stronger than coenzyme Q10). Other key, scientifically proven, health benefits of astaxanthin are that it can destroy free radicals, protects mitochondria and can protect against protein glycation. It also possesses anti inflammatory properties.
The abundance of stabilised vitamin C found in astaxanthin strengthens the immune system and supports general growth of fish. Immune system protects organisms from infections and checks whether the cells are functioning appropriately. Astaxanthin increases the number and level of activity of white cells (lymphocytes) and killer cells which are responsible for immunological response to pathogens (bacteria, viruses and fungi). Astaxanthin also protects lymphocytes and neutrophil from oxidising caused by destroying pathogens. Its protective abilities support immune system through production of lymphocytes. Astaxanthin neutralises toxins and binds free radicals which would otherwise harm cells. Its role in alleviating inflammation and in speeding up the processes of cell regeneration is of key importance and needs to be emphasised. These processes are possible thanks to the ability of astaxanthin to travel through cell membranes (that are usually made of fats and carotenoids are soluble in fats). This makes it easy for astaxanthin to reach the centre of the cells and repair them from inside.
Thanks to a unique and well thought through selection of elements, this food meets energy demands entirely and beneficially influences an appropriate growth of fish. High Protein astaxanthin leads to fish weight gain as it is willingly eaten by them.
